Annika Sorenstam is walking away from LPGA Tour after this year and the Hall of Famer seems intent on leaving as the No. 1 player in women’s golf. Brad Bryant suspects there’s no better place to fix his game than this tournament. He’s ready to go, heavy rain and all. Bryant has won the Champions Tour’s Regions Charity Classic the past two years since the event moved to the Robert Trent Jones Trail course from across town. He has three second-place finishes but no wins in 10 events on the year.
Richard Green birdied three of the last five holes for a 6-under 66 Thursday and a share of the lead after the first round of the Irish Open. Jeev Milka Singh was tied with Green at the Adare Manor.
